Wisconsin surpasses more than 3 million residents getting COVID-19 tests

More than 3 million Wisconsin residents have now been tested for COVID-19.

Wisconsin crossed the threshold on Saturday. As of Sunday, 3,007,306 Wisconsinites had received at least one test, according to Department of Health Services data.

There were 532,971 positive cases of the disease as of Sunday, a single-day increase of 1,119. An additional 1,681 cases were reported Saturday.

DHS reported 48 deaths over the weekend, including six on Sunday. The total death toll was 5,691.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 1,596, down 70 from Saturday and 533 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 34, the same as Saturday and down eight from a week ago.

As of Saturday, the seven-day average positivity rate by person was 20.5 percent, down 0.5 percentage points from Friday and 4.3 percentage points from the previous Saturday.

The rate by test was 6.1 percent, down 0.3 percentage points from Friday and 1.8 percentage points from the previous Saturday.

There were 761 COVID-19 patients in Wisconsin hospitals on Sunday, down 10 from Saturday and 92 from last week, according to the Wisconsin Hospital Association.

WHA reported 169 COVID-19 patients in intensive care units, down three from Saturday and 38 from last week.

No one was receiving treatment at the surge facility in West Allis on Sunday morning.

As of Friday, 310,256 COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered in Wisconsin. And 56,680 Wisconsinites had completed their COVID-19 vaccination series as of Thursday, the most recent day with available data.
