DHS: 1,095 new COVID-19 cases, 40 more deaths

Health officials reported 1,095 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, for a total of 544,260.

Forty more deaths brought the state’s death toll to 5,937.

An additional 3,182 people were tested, for a total of 3,057,017.

DHS considers 17,809 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 1,291, down 30 from Monday and 254 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 26, down two from Monday and eight from a week ago.

As of Monday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 19.7 percent, up 0.2 percentage points from Sunday and down 0.5 percentage points from a week ago.

The rate by test was 5.1 percent, down 0.1 percentage points from Sunday and 1 percentage point from a week ago.

Vaccinators administered 578,336 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Monday, with 108,713 Wisconsinites completing their vaccination series.

No patients were receiving care at the surge facility in West Allis on Tuesday.

Per the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 657 total COVID-19 patients on Tuesday, down 29 from Monday and 89 from a week ago.

There were 158 COVID-19 patients in intensive care units, up 12 from Monday and three from a week ago.
