Wisconsin’s allocation of COVID-19 vaccine approaches 1 million doses

More than 117,000 Wisconsinites have completed their COVID-19 vaccination series, as the state’s allocation approaches 1 million doses, according to data released Wednesday.

As of Tuesday, Wisconsin vaccinators administered 613,247 doses, with 117,367 Wisconsinites receiving second shots.

The federal government has allocated 986,275 doses to Wisconsin. The state has ordered 770,700 doses, with 129,550 in transit.

The Department of Health Services reported 1,177 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, for a total of 545,437.

Fourteen more deaths brought the state’s death toll to 5,951.

An additional 5,866 people were tested, for a total of 3,062,883.

DHS considers 16,966 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 1,270, down 21 from Tuesday and 247 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 23, down three from Tuesday and nine from a week ago.

As of Tuesday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 19.9 percent, up 0.4 percentage points from Monday and 0.3 percentage points from a week ago.

The rate by test was 5.2 percent, up 0.1 percentage points from Monday and down 0.6 percentage points from a week ago.

No patients were receiving care at the surge facility in West Allis on Wednesday.
