DHS: 214,000 Wisconsinites complete COVID-19 vaccination series

Nearly 214,000 Wisconsinites have completed their COVID-19 vaccination series.

Vaccinators administered 901,333 doses of COVID-19 vaccine as of Thursday.

Per state health data, 669,936 of those were first doses for Wisconsinites, around 11.5 percent of the state’s population, and 213,571 were second doses, around 3.7 percent.

The Department of Health Services reported 938 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 554,048.

Eleven more deaths brought the state’s death toll to 6,151.

An additional 5,545 Wisconsinites were tested, for a total of 3,111,136.

DHS considers 12,111 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 832, down 47 from Thursday and 354 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 19, down two from Thursday and four from a week ago.

As of Thursday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 3.4 percent, down 0.1 percentage points from Wednesday and 1.3 percentage points from a week ago.
