DHS: 516 new COVID-19 cases, 14 more deaths 

The Department of Health Services reported 516 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, for a total of 567,850.

Fourteen more reported deaths brought the state’s death toll to 6,524 people.

An additional 4,701 Wisconsinites were tested for COVID-19, for a total of 3,222,808.

DHS considers 6,528 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 388, down three from Tuesday and 157 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is nine, down one from Tuesday and eight from a week ago.

As of Tuesday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 2.1 percent, the same as Monday and down 0.2 percentage points from a week earlier, per preliminary data from DHS.

Wisconsin vaccinators administered 1,779,404 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Tuesday.

Per state data, 19.1 percent of the state’s population, or 1,113,632 Wisconsinites, have received first doses, and 10.8 percent, or 626,472 Wisconsinites, have completed the vaccine series.
