DHS: 13.9 percent of Wisconsinites fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Almost 14 percent of the state’s population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, per state health data updated Friday.

Wisconsin vaccinators administered 2,219,237 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Thursday.

Per state data, 23.8 percent of the state’s population, or 1,384,774 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 13.9 percent, or 811,217 Wisconsinites, have completed the vaccine series.

The Department of Health Services reported 390 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, for a total of 571,610.

DHS reported six more deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 6,562 people.

An additional 2,288 Wisconsinites were tested for the virus, for a total of 3,251,399. DHS considers 6,386 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 386, down 23 from Thursday and up six from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is five, the same as Thursday and down two from a week ago.

As of Thursday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 2.2 percent, the same as Wednesday and up 0.2 percentage points from a week earlier, per preliminary data from DHS.
