DHS: 296 new COVID-19 cases, three more deaths

The Department of Health Services reported 296 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, for a total of 576,044.

The state’s death toll is at 6,601 people, after DHS reported three new deaths.

An additional 3,183 Wisconsinites have been tested for COVID-19, for a total of 3,288,279.

DHS considers 6,483 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 467, down six from Sunday and up 62 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is four, up one from Sunday and down two from a week ago.

As of Sunday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 2.7 percent, the same as Saturday and up 0.4 percentage points from a week earlier, per preliminary data from DHS.

Wisconsin vaccinators administered 2,720,952 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Sunday.

Per the data, 29.3 percent of the state’s population, or 1,707,247 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 17.2 percent, or 1,001,142 Wisconsinites, have completed their vaccination series.

Per the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 227 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the state, down three from Sunday and up 24 from a week ago.

There were 58 in intensive care units, down eight from Sunday and up one from a week ago.
