DHS: 31.9 percent of Wisconsinites get at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot
Nearly 32 percent of Wisconsinites have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, per state data released Friday.
Wisconsin vaccinators administered 2,978,088 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Thursday.
They gave 67,304 doses on Thursday, with a seven-day average of 49,790 daily shots.
Per state data, 31.9 percent of the state’s population, or 1,859,640 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 19.3 percent, or 1,121,306 Wisconsinites, have completed their vaccination series.
The Department of Health Services reported 875 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, for a total of 578,587.
The state’s death toll is at 6,633 people, after DHS reported eight more deaths.
An additional 4,191 Wisconsinites have been tested for COVID-19, for a total of 3,318,369. DHS considers 7,143 cases active.
The seven-day average for daily new cases is 531, up 63 from Thursday and 66 from a week ago.
The seven-day average for daily new deaths is five, up one from Thursday and the same as a week ago.
As of Thursday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 3 percent, up 0.1 percentage points from Wednesday and 0.4 percentage points from a week earlier, per preliminary data from DHS.
