DHS: 517 new COVID-19 cases, 13 more deaths

The Department of Health Services reported 517 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, for a total of 603,820.

The state’s death toll remains at 6,917, after DHS reported 13 more deaths.

An additional 3,013 Wisconsinites have been tested for COVID-19, for a total of 3,489,175.

DHS considers 7,756 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 503, down 29 from Monday and 130 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 10, up one from Monday and down one from a week ago.

As of Monday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 3.1 percent, the same as Sunday and down 0.2 percentage points from a week ago, per preliminary data from DHS.

Wisconsin vaccinators administered 4,751,017 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Tuesday.

Per state data, 44.6 percent of the state’s population, or 2,598,820 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 38 percent, or 2,215,045 Wisconsinites, have completed their vaccination series.

They gave 20,463 doses on Tuesday, with a seven-day average of 25,238 daily shots.

Per the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 327 total COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Wisconsin, up five from Monday and one from a week ago.

There were 98 in intensive care units, up two from Monday and the same number as a week ago.
