DHS: 383 new COVID-19 cases, five more deaths

The Department of Health Services reported 383 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, for a total of 607,138.

The state’s death toll remains at 6,976, with five more deaths reported.

An additional 3,827 Wisconsinites have been tested for COVID-19, for a total of 3,521,882.

DHS considers 6,709 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 394, down 25 from Tuesday and 97 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is six, down two from Tuesday and down four from a week ago.

As of Tuesday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 2.8 percent, the same as Monday and down 0.2 percentage points from a week ago, per preliminary data from DHS.

Wisconsin vaccinators administered 4,921,930 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Tuesday. They gave 19,442 doses on Tuesday, with a seven-day average of 22,510 daily shots.

Per state data, 45.7 percent of the state’s population, or 2,659,706 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 39.8 percent, or 2,318,740 Wisconsinites, have completed their vaccination series.
