WPS Health Solutions CEO plans to retire next year

WPS Health Solutions CEO Mike Hamerlik will retire in 2023.

“I’ve long said that my tenure at WPS would be a maximum of 10 years given the stage of my career,” he said in a Monday statement. “I intend to retire by this time next year. Change is good for organizations and provides new leaders opportunities.”

Hamerlik has led WPS since 2012.

The insurer’s board of directors will identify the next CEO and complete a transition to new leadership over the next year.

Before joining WPS, Hamerlik was CEO of Noridian Administrative Services, a North Dakota company that provides administrative services to Medicare.

He’s also a former executive vice president for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota.
