Committee advances plan to ban closing places of worship during emergencies
A Republican-controlled Senate committee voted 3-2 along party lines Tuesday to recommend a proposed constitutional amendment that would prohibit officials from closing places of worship or forbidding gatherings in them during emergencies, including public health emergencies.
