Medical College of Wisconsin hosting inaugural Audaxity bike ride this summer at American Family Field to advance cancer discoveries
Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to join the community-driven movement, where 100 percent of rider-raised funds will fuel groundbreaking research at the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center.
Milwaukee, Wis. – January 6, 2025 – Today, the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Cancer Center announced its inaugural bike ride and community movement to accelerate cancer research – Audaxity – will be held Sunday, August 17, 2025, at American Family Field.
Open to people of all ages and abilities, this new event aims to bring together researchers, doctors, patients, and supporters from across the nation in a shared mission to advance groundbreaking research discoveries at the MCW Cancer Center. With the support of founding sponsor Associated Bank, 100 percent of the funds raised through Audaxity will drive cancer-fighting initiatives that will have a meaningful impact on people across Wisconsin – and beyond.
“Every day, our researchers are racing against time to deliver solutions that transform lives,” said Gustavo Leone, PhD, director of the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center. “Audaxity is an inspiring example of how a united community can amplify that work. Cancer is relentless, but so are we – we’re determined to drive discoveries that change its trajectory and create a future where this disease is no longer in control.”
Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death in Wisconsin – overall incidence and mortality rates are above the national average and significant disparities in care and outcomes exist among underserved populations. According to the National Cancer Institute, the Black and American Indian/Alaska Native populations in Wisconsin continue to experience higher cancer incidence and mortality rates than the White Non-Hispanic population, often due to limited access to care and later stage diagnoses.
The MCW Cancer Center is addressing these challenges head-on, pioneering innovative research that is reshaping how cancer is detected, diagnosed, and treated. By participating in Audaxity – whether riding, volunteering, or fundraising – supporters will be directly helping to advance cancer research discoveries that can save lives.

Together, we will end cancer right here in Wisconsin.”
Audaxity offers ride options for every ability, including a family-friendly 3- to 6-mile route. Additionally, there will be a 25-mile loop, a 50-mile challenge, and a 100-mile century ride for experienced cyclists. The event also welcomes virtual participants, volunteers, and fundraisers, ensuring everyone can contribute to this important cause.

I can’t wait to see our roads packed with riders, volunteers, and supporters as we take on this challenge together.”
Scott Lynch of Elm Grove added, “As a lung cancer survivor, I am all in on being a part of Audaxity. Training is underway, and I am looking forward to adding my energy and network to the mission.”
Registration for Audaxity is now open. Fundraising pages for teams and individuals are also accepting donations.
