Rogers Behavioral Health workers in Madison, West Allis want to unionize

Mental health professionals at Rogers Behavioral Health locations in Madison and West Allis have filed petitions to unionize.

Workers at the Madison location filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board in late January. Those at Rogers Behavioral Health Lincoln Center in West Allis filed a petition last Wednesday.

The West Allis workers said in a statement they felt they had no choice but to pursue a union as staff-to-patient ratios have sharply increased.

“We cannot help our patients if we are burnt out,” said T’Anna Holst, a therapist and organizing committee member.

Staff at the two locations want to join the National Union of Healthcare Workers, which represents workers at three Rogers clinics in California and one in Philadelphia.

Rogers CEO Cindy Meyer acknowledged the petitions. “We are working closely with the National Labor Relations Board on next steps,” she said in a Friday statement.
