Froedtert & Medical College to expand services in Brookfield

New health center will anchor Irgens development on Calhoun Road

Milwaukee, WI (March 7, 2016) – By the end of the year, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin will open a new health center in Brookfield, leasing space in a medical office building planned by Irgens.

Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Calhoun Health Center will lease 15,000 square feet in the new building and offer primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, maternal fetal medicine and laboratory and radiology services. The former LifeTime OB/GYN practice, which joined the Froedtert & MCW health network in October, will relocate to the Calhoun Health Center from its two current offices in Brookfield and Milwaukee.

“We continue to experience strong demand for our services in Waukesha County, and the Calhoun Road location will be convenient for our patients,” said Mark Lodes, MD, president, Froedtert & MCW Community Physicians.

Located at 1905 N. Calhoun Road, the 23,000-square-foot building will occupy the site of the former Venice Club restaurant. Construction is slated to begin in April. Lodes said Irgens intends to seek additional medical and dental tenants for the remaining 8,600 square feet of space.

The Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin regional health network is a partnership between Froedtert Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin. It comprises eastern Wisconsin’s only academic medical center, Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee; and Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls, and St. Joseph’s Hospital, West Bend. The health network also includes more than 2,000 physicians across 25 primary and specialty clinical locations representing the collaboration of Wisconsin’s largest multispecialty physician practice with a community-based physician group. The network’s three hospitals have 781 staffed beds, nearly 40,000 annual admissions and more than 900,000 annual outpatient visits. Froedtert & MCW network physicians have more than 700,000 annual patient visits at its health centers and clinics. For more information, visit froedtert.com.
