New record for daily COVID-19 cases, deaths in Wisconsin
Wisconsin reported a record number of new daily COVID-19 cases and deaths on Tuesday.
There were 7,073 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, for a total of 278,843.
The state’s death toll is at 2,395 after 66 more deaths were reported.
The seven-day average for daily new cases is 5,825. The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 42.
An additional 19,999 people were tested, for a total of 2,218,287. The Department of Health Services considers 61,944 cases as active.
As of Monday, the seven-day average positivity rate by person was 36 percent, and the seven-day average positivity rate by test was 18.1 percent.
There were six patients at the surge facility in West Allis on Tuesday morning.
