DHS: 2,402 new COVID-19 cases, 74 more deaths

The Department of Health Services reported 2,402 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, for a total of 444,798.

Seventy-four more deaths brought the state’s death toll to 4,196.

An additional 9,251 Wisconsinites were tested, for a total of 2,711,439.

DHS considers 41,426 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 3,247, a decrease of 606 from the same point last week.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 44, a decline of 11 from last week.

As of Tuesday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 27.5 percent, down 2.1 percent from the same point last week. By test, the rate was 10.7 percent, down 1.5 percent.

There were four patients at the surge facility in West Allis on Wednesday morning.
