DHS: 1,010 COVID-19 vaccines administered in Wisconsin

There were 1,010 COVID-19 vaccines administered to healthcare workers across 45 counties by the end of Wednesday, Department of Health Services Secretary-designee Andrea Palm told reporters Thursday.

DHS reported 3,643 new COVID-19 cases, for a total of 448,441.

Fifty-nine more deaths brought the death toll to 4,255.

So far, 2,722,377 Wisconsinites have been tested, up 10,938 from Wednesday.

DHS considers 40,738 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 3,191, down 579 from last week. The seven-day average for daily new deaths

As of Wednesday, the seven-day average positivity rate by person was 27.8 percent, a drop of 1.1 percent from last week. By test, the rate was 10.3 percent, a decline of 1.5 percent.

There were 1,363 total COVID-19 patients in Wisconsin hospitals, a decrease of 47 from Wednesday and down 121 from last week, per the Wisconsin Hospital Association.

There were 298 at intensive care units, a decline of 16 and down 34 from last week.
