DHS: 537 new COVID-19 cases, two more deaths

The Department of Health Services reported 537 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, for a total of 574,436.

Two more deaths brought the total to 6,599.

An additional 5,014 Wisconsinites have been tested for COVID-19, for a total of 3,272,609.

DHS considers 6,600 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 459, up seven from Wednesday and 50 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is six, the same as Wednesday and up one from a week ago.

As of Wednesday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 2.5 percent, up 0.1 percentage points from Tuesday and 0.2 percentage points from a week earlier, per preliminary data from DHS.

Wisconsin vaccinators administered 2,516,716 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Wednesday.

Per the data, 27.3 percent of the state’s population, or 1,586,619 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 15.8 percent, or 917,203 Wisconsinites, have completed their vaccination series.
