Wisconsin to open vaccine eligibility to general public next Monday
Gov. Tony Evers said Tuesday that the state will open up COVID-19 eligibility to everyone 16 and older next Monday.
State officials originally planned to open up shots to the general public on May 1.
Evers said that Wisconsin leads the nation in getting shots into arms.
Wisconsin vaccinators have administered 2.7 million vaccine doses, fully vaccinated 1 million residents and fully vaccinated over half of the state’s seniors, he said.
“Expanding COVID-19 vaccine eligibility today marks a major milestone in our work to overcome this pandemic and bounce back together,” Evers tweeted.
