DHS: 40.7 percent of Wisconsinites receive at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine
Nearly 41 percent of Wisconsinites have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Wisconsin vaccinators administered 3,978,523 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Tuesday.
They gave 38,821 doses on Tuesday, with a seven-day average of 44,537 daily shots.
Per state data, 40.7 percent of the state’s population, or 2,368,010 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 28.8 percent, or 1,677,365 Wisconsinites, have completed their vaccination series.
The Department of Health Services reported 626 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, for a total of 592,262 cases.
The state’s death toll is at 6,721 people, after DHS reported three more deaths.
An additional 5,065 Wisconsinites have been tested for COVID-19, for a total of 3,403,332.
DHS considers 9,009 cases active.
The seven-day average for daily new cases is 671, down 43 from Tuesday and 152 from a week ago.
The seven-day average for daily new deaths is four, the same as Tuesday and down two from a week ago.
As of Tuesday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 3.4 percent, down 0.1 percentage points from Monday and 0.3 percentage points from a week earlier, per preliminary data from DHS.
