Republican lawmakers have resurfaced a proposal that would prohibit University of Wisconsin employees from providing abortions and training on the procedure, despite warnings the plan would jeopardize the medical school’s OB-GYN residency program.
Republican legislative leaders on Tuesday stood by their decision to end a special session on expanding Medicaid, after Gov. Tony Evers and other Democrats blasted them for not taking up a bill that would put an additional $1 billion in federal money from expansion into economic development and capital projects.
