Milwaukee County will use $7.5 million in settlement funds from opioid-related litigation for initiatives aimed at reducing substance use disorder, expanding treatment and supporting prevention. 

State health officials are seeking input on how to spend their share of opioid settlement funds in the coming years. 

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley wants to use about $7.5 million in opioid settlement funds for prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery efforts. 

Wisconsin will receive $80.1 million over 15 years from Purdue Pharma and its owners, the Sackler family, under a multistate, $7.4 billion settlement that took effect Friday.

A Dane County court last week entered a judgment between Wisconsin and Kroger to address the grocery chain’s alleged role in the opioid crisis.
