Achieving health equity: What will it take in Wisconsin?

January 14, 2020 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Where someone lives, how much money they make and the color of their skin can have a significant impact on their overall health. And in Wisconsin, this is especially true. The University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute gave the state a “D” for its health disparities in a recent report.

A Wisconsin Health News panel on Jan. 14 in Milwaukee will discuss efforts underway to achieve health equity, and the challenges that remain.

Panelists:

  • Dr. Leonard Egede, Director for Advancing Population Science, Medical College of Wisconsin
  • Caroline Gomez-Tom, Director of Patient and Community Engagement, Sixteenth Street Community Health Center
  • Jeanette Kowalik, Commissioner of Health, City of Milwaukee
  • Vincent Lyles, Vice President Community Relations, Advocate Aurora Health
  • Ellen Sexton, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Wisconsin
