Mike Totoraitis was appointed commissioner of health for Milwaukee in May 2023, the city’s sixth health chief in the past six years.
He wants to bolster the health of Milwaukeans by combating racism and addressing social determinants of health like housing, transportation and food insecurity. The city is also focused on replacing tens of thousands of lead service lines.
Totoraitis will talk about these efforts and more at a Wisconsin Health News Newsmaker event in Milwaukee on June 11.
