Military members and their families can now access Dean Clinic and SSM Health providers

Madison, WI (July 23, 2015) – To meet the needs of military members and their families in south central Wisconsin, SSM Health is excited to announce that it has joined the TriCare – North network of providers, as well as the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Patient Centered Community Care (PCCC) and Veteran Choice programs to help military members and veterans receive timely access to quality health care.

“We are thankful for the men and women who serve our country,” says Damond Boatwright, Regional President/CEO of Hospital Operations at SSM Healthcare of Wisconsin.  “They deserve to have timely and convenient access to quality care. We want military members and their families to know that we are here to take care of them.”

SSM Health signed a contract with HealthNet Federal Services, LLC (HealthNet) effective June 1, 2015. HealthNet administers the contracts for TriCare and the VA. As a result, TriCare Health Plan members and their families have the option of choosing a Dean Clinic primary care physician, and have access to Dean Clinic specialists and providers at any of the SSM Hospitals, including St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital and St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo.

Members of the VA’s PCCC and Veteran Choice programs will have access to Dean Clinic or SSM Healthproviders with an appropriate referral from the VA.

“I am very pleased that Dean / SSM Health has become the only TriCare preferred provider system in the greater Madison area,” says Brad Meyers, MD a Dean Clinic Physician and member of the Wisconsin Air National Guard.  “I care a lot about the men and women in the Guard and know that finding affordable care close to home can be difficult for many of them.  It is great to know that now they can travel a shorter distance or pay less to receive care in their area.”

TriCare members and members of the two VA programs are asked to review their benefit packages to learn about how they can access a Dean Clinic or SSM Health provider.
