UW Health names new research-information officer

UW Health hired Dr. Umberto Tachinardi, an internationally known expert in health-care information,  in the newly created position of Chief Research Information officer.  Dr. Umberto Tachinardi will provide direction for the creation of a single UW Health “data warehouse” of health information.  The UW project will build on UW Health’s conversion in 2009 to a complete electronic health record system. Tachinardi comes to UW-Madison from the University of Chicago, where he was Director of informatics in the Office of Clinical Research and for the UC Comprehensive Cancer Center.
