Expired testing kits found at site where patients possibly exposed to hepatitis, HIV
Expired glucose meter testing kits were found during an inspection of one of the Dean Clinic sites where a diabetes nurse educator potentially exposed 2,345 patients to hepatitis and HIV, according to a report released Thursday. The kits could have caused patients to receive inaccurate treatment, but there is no evidence that occurred, said Stephanie Smiley, spokeswoman for the state Department of Health Services.
