The National Association of Epilepsy Centers redesignated Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin a Level 4 epilepsy center. Level 4 centers have the professional expertise and facilities to provide the highest level of medical and surgical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy.

Children’s has Wisconsin’s only Level 4 pediatric epilepsy program. With state-of-the-art facilities and one of the leading surgical pediatric epilepsy programs in the country, Children’s provides comprehensive, cutting-edge treatment for patients with seizure disorders.

“This designation is a great honor,” said Kurt Hecox, MD, PhD, interim medical director of Neurology at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and associate professor of Neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. “It strongly reflects the exceptional expertise, quality care, outcomes and comprehensive services Children’s provides to patients with epilepsy.”

The National Association of Epilepsy Centers is a non-profit trade association dedicated to connecting people with epilepsy to specialized care and supporting epileptologists and administrators in the operation of their epilepsy centers.
