Chilton, Wis. – Calumet Medical Center has announced it will begin renovations of the hospital’s power plant April 1, 2013, to provide energy efficient heating and cooling infrastructure. Construction of the $3.5 million power plant is scheduled to be completed in September of 2013.

“We are eager to continue with the planned improvements that have taken place at the hospital over the years. This is the next important step in ensuring our ability to provide the best possible health care. This provides a platform to grow clinical services and programs well into the future,” said Tim Richman, president of Calumet Medical Center.

Having served Calumet County and the surrounding area for nearly 60 years, Calumet Medical Center has demonstrated a commitment to improving the community’s health. Renovations at the hospital include:

  • The Calumet Medical Center clinic, which was built in 1956
  • The emergency department, which was completed in 2006
  • The breast center and imaging department, which were completed in 2008

The Boldt Co. is serving as the project’s general contractor.
