New Berlin, Wis. – Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Moorland Reserve Health Center opens October 7, bringing convenient access to primary, specialty and urgent care services from physicians aligned with Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin. Located off I-43 and Moorland Road in New Berlin, the 135,000-square-foot medical center is part of an integrated network of hospitals and health centers connected to eastern Wisconsin’s only academic medical center.

Community members are invited to the Moorland Reserve Health Center “Sneak Peek” Open House on Saturday, October 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  This event provides an opportunity to meet physicians, take an exclusive tour and enjoy a corn roast.

“Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin are committed to improving health care value by providing high-quality care in the most cost-effective setting,” said Catherine Jacobson, Froedtert Health president and CEO. “Moorland Reserve Health Center embodies the academic-community partnership that defines Froedtert & The Medical College. This new facility extends our broad array of services into southwestern Milwaukee and Waukesha counties, offering a convenient location that makes it easy for people to choose us for their care.”

Moorland Reserve is home to more than 60 physicians and advanced practitioners including primary care providers in internal medicine and obstetrics/gynecology.  On-site screenings and diagnostic testing are available including radiology, lab, mammography, colonoscopy, and bone density. Walk-in urgent care is available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Oncology and cardiology are among the many specialty care services provided at Moorland Reserve.  The site offers cancer specialists and programs of the Froedtert & The Medical College Cancer Network including on-site chemotherapy and infusion services.  Cancer services delivered at Moorland Reserve will be part of the comprehensive and coordinated care provided by the Cancer Network. Cardiovascular services include stress testing, echocardiography, non-invasive imaging, electrophysiology services and on-site cardiac rehabilitation.

Additional specialty clinics include surgery (including plastic surgery,) gastroenterology (including GI lab,) neurology, nephrology, urology, ophthalmology/optometry, otolaryngology (ear, nose, throat) dermatology, pulmonology (lung; including a pulmonary lab,) endocrinology, infusion, audiology and behavioral health.  Moorland Reserve also provides musculoskeletal clinics for orthopedic surgery and rheumatology (arthritis,) with physical, occupational and speech therapy for orthopedic, sports injury, and neurological rehabilitation.

“Moorland Reserve Health Center is designed to bring physicians aligned with Froedtert & The Medical College closer to the homes and workplaces of area residents. If the need arises for more advanced services, care can be seamlessly transitioned to our academic medical center in Wauwatosa,” said Mark Lodes, MD, president of Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Community Physicians. “Moorland Reserve’s primary care physicians practice the ‘medical home’ model, a team approach to care coordination, disease prevention and early detection. Medical homes are proving their success at many of our clinics.  Research shows that this model helps improve outcomes and decrease health costs.”

Froedtert & The Medical College hospitals and clinics form an integrated network connected to a shared electronic medical record system. If a Moorland Reserve patient was previously seen at another Froedtert network location, his or her health records will be available to physicians at Moorland Reserve.
