Mercy cardiologist earns honor from Wisconsin State Assembly for treating veterans

JANESVILLE, Wisconsin– Thomas Stoiber, MD, board certified cardiologist a Mercy Regional Heart and Vascular Center, was recently honored with a Legislative Citation by the Wisconsin State Assembly for his superior cardiology expertise. More importantly, Dr. Stoiber is honored for his service that directly resulted in a Military Intelligence veteran achieving unprecedented cardiac recovery.

“Dr. Stoiber is the captain of my health care ship,” says Benjamin Lewis, veteran and President of Lewis Consulting. “His dedication, leadership and excellence has not only saved my life but is also appreciated and admired bycurrent members of the U.S. Military Intelligence Corps.”

The United States flag was flown on September 11 in recognition of Dr. Stoiber’s heart health expertise as well as Mr. Lewis’ successful mountain hike in Arizona, reaching a peak of more than 6,200 feet above sea level.
