Health care law change may have little effect in state

President Barack Obama on Thursday announced changes to the federal health care law that would allow health insurance customers to keep their health plans — including plans that otherwise would have been barred by the law next year. But the new rules are expected to have little effect in Wisconsin, said Dan Schwartzer, the state's deputy insurance commissioner. The state has allowed insurers to let customers renew their existing health plans this year, thereby sidestepping the new regulations under the Affordable Care Act. (JOURNAL SENTINEL, 11/15)
