MetaStar Achieves Wisconsin Forward Award’s Mastery Level

MADISON – MetaStar, Inc., a nonprofit health care quality improvement organization (QIO) in Wisconsin, will receive the Wisconsin Forward Award’s (WFA’s) Mastery level recognition this month. Mastery level is the second highest of the four Wisconsin Forward Award levels (Excellence, Mastery, Proficiency and Commitment). It recognizes organizations that demonstrate significant maturity in developing and refining processes that are tied to good results in such areas as building a highly skilled workforce, financial and organizational performance, and exceptional customer satisfaction and retention.
“We are honored to be receiving this award as it demonstrates our ongoing commitment to excellence,” said Steve Laking, MetaStar Chief Operating Officer. “Even more importantly, we are looking forward to analyzing the accompanying feedback report, which provides an in-depth assessment of our strengths and opportunities for further improvement. This report is worth its weight in gold.”
Wisconsin Forward Award, the state’s premier organization for assessing and recognizing high-performance management principles, will honor MetaStar and other 2013 award recipients at a ceremony and reception at the Monona Terrace Conference and Convention Center in Madison on the evening of December 10, 2013. The ceremony will also celebrate the accomplishments of hundreds of Wisconsin organizations that have benefited from the program’s services and learning opportunities, as well as the tens of thousands of hours of service contributed by its volunteer Board of Examiners.
Wisconsin Secretary of the Department of Health Services Kitty Rhoades will present the WFA awards to the following organizations:

o MetaStar, Inc.

In addition, the Pewaukee Public School District will be recognized for its receipt of the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Wisconsin Forward Award, Inc. was created in 1997 by the Governor’s Council on Workforce Investment to advance the competitive position and world-class status of Wisconsin organizations in the international marketplace, and to enhance learning, continuous improvement, and enterprise performance.
