Humana’s Worksite Wellness Earns Gold Standard in Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Governor’s Council awards Humana the Gold Level Worksite Wellness Award for its commitment to employee health
GREEN BAY, Wis. – Green Bay’s largest employer, health and well-being company Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), has earned the highest ranking, Gold Level, from the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health for its worksite wellness program. TheWisconsin Worksite Wellness award is presented to local companies that achieve the wellness criteria determined by the council to improve employee overall well-being.
The Wisconsin Worksite Wellness award began in 2008, with nine awards issued to companies, including Humana, in 2013. Humana’s worksite wellness program currently ranks in the top 20 programs out of the 87 companies that met the Wisconsin governor’s criteria since the award’s inception, outperforming other local businesses and communities including insurance and healthcare-focused companies.
To assess a company’s worksite wellness, the Governor’s Council uses evidence-based criteria to measure quality on several levels, including:
- Program infrastructure
- Health education
- Health screening and disease prevention & management
- Physical activity and nutrition components
- Tobacco use policies
- Alcohol and other drug policies
