Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County Receives American Heart Association Honors

Manitowoc, Wis. – Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County has received the American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® Gold Plus Achievement Award, recognizing excellence in patient care quality and outcomes related to stroke patients.

“It is always an honor to be recognized by the organizations that are establishing standards for the highest quality of care,” said Cathie Kocourek, Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County President. “We are thankful for all our caregivers that have made this recognition possible.”

The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognize Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County for achieving 85% or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines Stroke Achievement indicators for two or more consecutive 12 month intervals and at least 12 consecutive months of 75% or higher compliance with five or more Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Quality measures to improve quality of patient care and outcomes.

The stroke category of the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® program is an in-hospital program for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to the latest scientific treatment guidelines. Since its initiation in 2003, 1,656 hospitals have entered more than two million patient records into the Get With The Guidelines® Stroke database.
