Farm Technology Days 2014 will feature lots of tractors, crops and livestock, but the state’s largest agricultural event also is a chance for thousands of people to learn about health.

Marshfield Clinic experts will attend the three-day statewide event Aug. 12-14 and will be located in Tent City, at the corners of Wisconsin Avenue and Fourth/Fifth Streets.

Farm Technology Days features the latest improvements in production agriculture, including practical applications of recent research findings and technological developments. It’s one of the largest events of its kind in the nation. Hosts Blue Top Farms and Feltz Family Farms, located east of Plover and south of Highway HH, is six miles from Marshfield Clinic Stevens Point Center. These farms have provided grounds for Tent City, which will house more than 600 vendors on about 400 acres. This is the first time in more than three decades the show has been in Portage County.

“The event’s close proximity to the new Stevens Point Center allows us to showcase services we offer locally and in centers in dozens of communities across the state,” said Al Chaney, Marketing and Communications director, Marshfield Clinic.

The Clinic plans to have 17 departments represented at the show, some offering free services and all providing health information to the estimated 60,000-80,000 attendees, including:
