Green Bay – St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay is proud to announce the opening of two new, state-of-the-art medical units – Prevea Regional Orthopedic Center and St. Mary’s One Day Services.

Prevea Regional Orthopedic Center offers comprehensive care – exams, X-rays, labs and therapy – in one location. In the new, 22,500 square-foot space, patients have access to providers with expertise in a variety of medical specialties including hip, knee, shoulder, spine, hand, foot, ankle, family medicine and physical and occupational therapy.

Exam rooms include large-screen TVs for providers and patients to view digital X-rays and MRIs. Also, patients who may have trouble walking will find the Prevea Regional Orthopedic Center to be easily accessible, as they can use valet parking at the main entrance of St. Mary’s Hospital, cross the lobby, then take an elevator directly to the center on the 2nd floor. Prevea Regional Orthopedic Center opened for business on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014.

“This is the first all-inclusive orthopedic center of its kind in Northeast Wisconsin,” said Dr. Ashok Rai, Prevea Health CEO and President. “We have the area’s most specialized and broadest range of orthopedic providers under one roof, all designed to keep you moving.”

Adjacent to the Prevea Regional Orthopedic Center is St. Mary’s One Day Services, a newly-remodeled, 10,000 square-foot outpatient surgery unit designed as one of the most private and comfortable for patients in the Northeast Wisconsin region. The unit features 26 patient rooms, each with its own bathroom, so patients can rest comfortably and privately before and after their procedures. Two of the rooms also feature ceiling lifts to further assist immobile patients. St. Mary’s One Day Services will begin serving patients on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014.

“St. Mary’s Hospital and Prevea Health have a strong reputation in the community for advancing the mission through comprehensive orthopedic care,” said Larry Connors, Chief Operating Officer, St. Mary’s and St. Vincent Hospitals. “The addition of the Prevea Regional Orthopedic Center and St. Mary’s One Day Services at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center will aid in the recruitment of additional orthopedic specialists and most importantly, benefit our patients and their families.”

Construction on Prevea Regional Orthopedic Center and St. Mary’s One Day Services began in January 2014 and cost an estimated $15.8 million.
