HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital receives matching grant from Otto Bremer Foundation

Eau Claire, WI – HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital was recently awarded a matching grant from The Otto Bremer Foundation for $100,000. The grant – specifically designated to help address the behavioral health needs of children ages 18 years and younger – will match $100,000 raised locally by the Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital until May 2016, and will be used for child and adolescent behavioral services available at Sacred Heart. Since last May, $50,000 has been raised by local contributors.

“There’s an ongoing need for adolescent mental health services in our local community,” said Julie Manas, less esident & CEO of HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital. “We’ve expanded these types of services at Sacred Heart to help assist the growing needs of children and adolescents. Our efforts are making a difference in providing help before a crisis occurs, help for children and families through the struggles and challenges they face in these circumstances. This work supports the families and schools in the communities we serve and lays a strong foundation for long term, improved quality of life.”

Anyone interested in helping the Friends Office raise the matching funds for this grant or other projects can contact the Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital at (715) 717-4925.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Representatives from the Otto Bremer Foundation and the Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital will make a check presentation on February 20 at 3 p.m. at Bremer Bank, located at 3947 Oakwood Hills Parkway. If interested in covering, please contact Shannon Portell at (715) 271-2681.
