UW Health and UnitedHealthcare establish new network relationship

UW Health and UnitedHealthcare have established a new multi-year relationship, giving people enrolled in most UnitedHealthcare individual and employer-sponsored plans in-network access to all UW Health facilities and physicians effective May 1, 2015.

UW Health is an academic health center associated with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and provides access to more than 1,300 physicians in 98 specialties.

“We are pleased that this new relationship makes it possible for people covered by UnitedHealthcare throughout Wisconsin to have in-network access to the care and resources of UW Health,” said Michael Dallman, president of University Health Resources and vice president for UW Health regional development.

“UW Health is an important provider of health care services, and this new network relationship provides customers in Wisconsin with in-network access to quality health care,” said Dustin Hinton, president and CEO, UnitedHealthcare of Wisconsin. “Our work together willgive individuals and families access to critical health services in their local community and greatly enhances our ability to respond to consumers’ specific health needs.”

UnitedHealthcare serves more than 1.4 million people in Wisconsin with a care provider network of 142 hospitals and more than 25,000 physicians statewide.
