Aurora Health Center in Kenosha to Open New Clinic for Breast Cancer Patients

Kenosha, Wis. – Aurora Health Care is adding services to its clinic at 6811 118th Avenue with the establishment of a multidisciplinary cancer clinic (MDCC) for breast cancer patients on July 22. The breast multidisciplinary cancer clinic will follow new standards in cancer care that make treatment more convenient and efficient for the patient.

The Aurora breast multidisciplinary cancer clinic MDCC will offer a number of advantages for patients including:

• Additional Convenience – Patients will meet with all of their physicians at the same appointment.
• Cancer Nurse Navigators – Each patient is assigned their own Cancer Nurse Navigator. These nurses are the patient’s personal guide throughout the treatment process.
• Efficient Diagnostics – All necessary testing is coordinated by a Cancer Nurse Navigator before the first visit to the clinic. This ensures a smooth transition from diagnosis to treatment.

“Cancer Nurse Navigators play a key role in our patient’s cancer care,” said Jamie Cairo, nurse practitioner and director of cancer integration for Aurora Health Care. “Cancer Nurse Navigators are personal advocates for the patients and are there to help answer any questions throughout the patient’s entire journey.”
