Now Open: The Dean Spot at West Towne Mall – a kiosk for health insurance information
MADISON, Wis. (October 12, 2015) – With the addition of motion graphics, dual display screens and an interactive iPad app, this year The Dean Spot is back at West Towne Mall, better than ever!
The Dean Spot, Dean Health Plan’s retail location in Madison, features information about Dean’s Individual & Family plans as well as Dean’s new Medicare Advantage plan called Dean Advantage.
Located between Boston Store and Forever 21 in West Towne Mall, the kiosk is open now through January 31. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) prompted insurance companies to look for ways to reach consumers in new and different ways. And, Dean Health Plan was the first health insurance company in the state to open a retail location to help consumers understand health insurance options.
We’re in a new era of retail health care as the Affordable Care Act encourages health insurance organizations to develop new vehicles for consumer education and engagement” says Frank Lucia, President and CEO of Dean Health Plan. “We want to help individuals become smarter health care consumers with innovative shopping tools.”
The open enrollment period for Individual & Family plans for 2016 coverage is November 1, 2015 through January 31, 2016.
The open enrollment period for Medicare Advantage plans for 2016 coverage is October 15 through December 7, 2015.
Starting in November, a Dean Health Plan Sales Representative will provide face-to-face education and assistance at The Dean Spot on Thursdays from 4-7 p.m. All other times, consumers can see large screen animation, an iPad app and educational brochures to understand their many options when buying health insurance. The Dean Spot also features free biometric screenings.
“Last year more than eleven-hundred customers stopped by the Dean Spot and interacted with Dean Staff. This year our new animated messages and iPad apps will help even more consumers,” says Product Manager Mitch Soetenga.
