Wisconsin Hospital Association statement on the passing of Secretary Kitty Rhoades

Attribute to WHA President and CEO Eric Borgerding

Today, WHA and hospital leaders across Wisconsin join many others in mourning the passing of Department of Health Service Secretary Kitty Rhoades.  We are deeply saddened.

Secretary Rhoades was a leader, a partner, a champion who has left her mark on health care policy and will be gratefully remembered by the countless people she helped during her career in public service.

Kitty was a mentor and role model for many of us who had the true privilege of working for her or with her for nearly 20 years.   She was not only a tremendous public servant and colleague, she was also our friend.  She was one of a kind, and will be sorely missed.

Our most heartfelt condolences go out to Kitty’s family and her many colleagues, present and past, in the Legislature, Governor Walker’s Office, the Department of Health Services and all across Wisconsin health care.
