Aurora Health Care announces plans for new clinic in downtown Oshkosh
Oshkosh, Wis. – Aurora Health Care today announced plans to expand health care services in downtown Oshkosh with a new clinic. Aurora purchased the land and a vacant commercial building at 135 Jackson St., and plans to begin offering primary care and physical rehabilitation services in early 2017.
“Aurora Health Care is always looking for better ways to deliver high-quality, cost-effective health care, and now we have the opportunity to provide greater access to expanded services in downtown Oshkosh, an area that we consider to be underserved,” said Jeff Bard, executive vice president of Aurora’s North Region. “We are confident that the new facility would allow us to better address the growing demand for health care in our area, helping to make our whole community healthier.”
Aurora expects four primary care physicians and six rehabilitation providers will offer services at the site, with other caregivers bringing the total to more than 20. Construction work is anticipated to begin later this year, with the addition of Aurora signage on the exterior, along with interior renovations.
Besides providing an additional access point for care, the clinic is an economic investment. “We believe this clinic will be a catalyst for future growth in the central business district of Oshkosh,” Bard said. “The impact of bringing in additional patients, family members, caregivers and physicians will be positive and substantial.”
A conditional-use permit for the project was approved by the Oshkosh Common Council on July 26.
