Aurora Behavioral Health Services expands care in North Shore with new hospital-based clinic

“The expansion of the Aurora Behavioral Health Services clinic on Port Washington Road is designed to increase access for care in this community,” said Pete Carlson, president of Aurora Behavioral Health Services. “There is an increasing demand for mental health services in our community, and by providing more access to care, we can help more people regain their independence and live full, rewarding lives.”

The revamped clinic includes the build-out of some 8,200 square feet of space for both the hospital-based and outpatient programs. It will be staffed by an estimated 15 physicians, counselors and other staff across both programs, and is forecasted to provide care for some 400 patients annually.

The hospital-based program officially opened on October 10, and is the latest in a number of new programs offered by Aurora Behavioral Health Services in the greater Milwaukee community to meet the growing need for mental health services.

In October of 2015, Aurora announced plans to add 18 inpatient beds, a parking structure and a new alumni house to its behavioral health campus in Wauwatosa, which is expected to open in 2017.  Later in October, the organization also announced expanded outpatient programs in Sheboygan.

“We’re committed to finding ways to help people have the services they need to live rich, healthy lives,” added Carlson.
