Medical College of Wisconsin Names C. Greer Jordan, MBA, PhD as Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer
Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) named C. Greer Jordan, MBA, PhD as the chief diversity and inclusion officer effective Jan. 3, 2017.
In this role, Dr. Jordan will provide strategic leadership including vision, management and strategic planning for institution-wide diversity and inclusion initiatives, and will be responsible for developing a broad-reaching approach to enhancing the excellence of senior leadership and the entire workforce relating to diversity and inclusion. She will design, implement and assess diversity and inclusion initiatives to ensure alignment with MCW’s long-term strategic plan, and will help create an institutional culture that sets clear expectations, provides appropriate support and engenders respect and dignity at all levels of the organization. More specifically, Dr. Jordan will provide strategic direction in recruiting, attracting and retaining diverse faculty, physicians, students and staff, identify areas of opportunity, collaborate with departments, programs and constituencies, and serve as a liaison between MCW and individuals with similar roles – both locally and nationally – to share best practices and innovations related to diversity and inclusion. She also will be an MCW ambassador and resource to communities, businesses and nonprofit entities locally.
Currently, Dr. Jordan serves as associate vice chancellor, diversity and inclusion, for the University of Massachusetts Medical School and UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester, Mass. She also holds a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Graduate School of Nursing.

Dr. Jordan joined UMass Medical School in 2012 as associate vice chancellor, Human Resources and Diversity & Inclusion – a role she held until 2014 when she assumed her current position. Additionally, at UMass Medical School, Dr. Jordan has served as assistant professor, graduate school of nursing; assistant professor, quantitative health sciences; and assistant professor, department of psychiatry. Prior to joining UMass Medical School, Dr. Jordan served as assistant professor of psychology at Cleveland State University. Concurrently, she was owner and founder of Currie Rhodes Consulting, providing leadership coaching, organizational change needs assessments and data analysis, and process facilitation and design services.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Detroit, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in organizational behavior from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
Dr. Jordan has maintained a commitment to community service throughout her career. Most recently, she served on the board of the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts and as a member of the Women’s Initiative of the United Way’s Leadership Council. She also regularly volunteered as a science reader for the Audio Journal – a news service for the blind and sight impaired – a mentor for the Women’s Initiative Dollar Scholar program, and as a regional science fair judge.
Prior to her career in academia, Dr. Jordan worked in the automotive industry for nearly 20 years – in engineering and management positions at Ford Motor Company and General Motors.

About the Medical College of Wisconsin
The Medical College of Wisconsin is the state’s only private medical school and health sciences graduate school. Founded in 1893, it is dedicated to leadership and excellence in education, patient care, research and community engagement. More than 1,200 students are enrolled in MCW’s medical school and graduate school programs in Milwaukee, 56 medical students enrolled at MCW-Green Bay, and 26 students matriculated to MCW-Central Wisconsin in 2016. MCW’s School of Pharmacy will open in 2017 or 2018 with an initial class size of 60 students. A major national research center, MCW is the largest research institution in the Milwaukee metro area and second largest in Wisconsin. In FY 2014-15, faculty received approximately $158 million in external support for research, teaching, training and related purposes, of which approximately $139 million is for research. This total includes highly competitive research and training awards from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
