MetaStar is proud to be selected as a URAC-approved data validation organization

Madison, Wisconsin- MetaStar is proud to announce that it has been selected by URAC to provide data validation services for organizations that have attained URAC Accreditation in certain areas. URAC is the independent leader in promoting healthcare quality through accreditation, certification and measurement. URAC-accredited organizations have demonstrated a commitment to comprehensive data collection, validation and accurate reporting.

MetaStar will begin providing URAC Accreditation Validation Audit services for the audit season beginning this spring, for pharmacy organizations and health plans, including Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBMs), Mail Service Pharmacies, Specialty Pharmacies, Community Pharmacies, Drug Therapy Management Programs. As part of URAC’s requirements for accreditation, these organizations must report quality measures and the reporting processes must be audited. The audit is intended to ensure comparability across organizations and improve the reliability of data.

“Data validation when measuring performance can’t be underscored enough,” said Marybeth Farquhar, URAC’s Vice President of Quality, Research and Measurement. “It is critically important for health care organizations to understand their data and how its collected in order to make accurate assessments that lead to real quality improvement. As we shift toward more patient-centered care, valid data is critical in moving our health care system to better patient outcomes.”

As a URAC-approved, independent third-party measure data validator, MetaStar will contract directly with individual organizations on an annual basis to perform validation services of measures result submissions to URAC to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

MetaStar’s auditing team includes certified auditors, registered nurses, coding specialists, and dedicated information technology (IT) staff. Many team members are Certified Professionals in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). MetaStar auditors provide quick responses to customer requests and provide actionable feedback for improvement.
