School district of Greenfield selects Froedtert & MCW Workforce Health for employee workplace clinic

Milwaukee, Wis. (March 31, 2017) — The School District of Greenfield has selected Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Workforce Health, a provider of wellness programming and health care services for employers, to operate and staff a workplace health clinic.

Slated to open this fall, the workplace clinic will provide health services at no charge to all School District of Greenfield employees, their spouses and dependent children who are on the school district’s health insurance plan. Approximately 900 people potentially could be served by the new clinic, which will be located inside the high school at 4850 S. 60th Street.

“We believe that offering our employees and their families a convenient, affordable choice for basic health care will result in healthier people and lower health care costs,” said Mark Kapocius, director of human resources and general counsel for the School District of Greenfield. “Over time, we expect this approach to providing employee health care also will reduce the district’s overall health care spending.”

Board-certified Froedtert & MCW Workforce Health nurse practitioners and physician assistants will see patients and be able to diagnose and treat many non-emergency minor illnesses such as sore throats, earaches, sinus and urinary tract infections, flu symptoms and skin rashes. Lab tests, vaccinations, physicals and routine prescriptions also can be obtained at the clinic, as well as preventive care visits and wellness coaching.

“More and more employers are recognizing the value of a comprehensive approach to workforce health,” said Patti Kneiser, vice president of employer services for Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network. “Providing the right care at the right time and place is an effective way to keep people healthy, improve productivity and manage costs. And employees love the convenience.”

The School District of Greenfield joins five other area employers that partner with Froedtert & MCW Workforce Health to provide workplace clinics. They include Associated Banc-Corp., Hatco Corporation, Palermo Villa, Inc., the City of Milwaukee and the City of Wauwatosa.
