Milwaukee Area Technical College selects Froedtert & MCW Workforce Health for employee wellness services

Milwaukee, Wis. (June 14, 2017) — Milwaukee Area Technical College, the largest of Wisconsin’s 16 technical colleges, has selected Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Workforce Health as its new provider of employee wellness programming and services.

Workforce Health will provide health risk appraisals, wellness education and coaching for approximately 1,900 employees and spouses who are on MATC’s health insurance plan.

“The health risk appraisal clinics have gone very well,” said Shannon Weyenberg, director of compensation, benefits and risk management for MATC. “We believe this is a great step toward helping our employees get healthier and ultimately, lowering our healthcare costs.”

MATC is the latest southeastern Wisconsin employer to offer Workforce Health wellness programming to its staff. In March, the School District of Greenfield contracted with Workforce Health for an onsite employee workplace clinic and other wellness services. Waukesha County Technical College has been a client since 2014.

“More employers are recognizing the value of a comprehensive approach to workforce health,” said Patti Kneiser, vice president of employer services for Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network. “The health risk appraisal establishes a customized baseline for each person to build a personal plan for better health. Supported with coaching and other wellness activities, it’s an effective way to encourage healthier lifestyles.”

Froedtert & MCW Workforce Health is the employer services arm of the Froedtert & MCW health network, offering onsite and contracted health care services to employers of all sizes. Services include occupational and preventive medicine, health appraisals, wellness education, health care consulting and workplace health care clinics.
