Aurora offers video visit for easy-access appointments

Online system allows patients to receive treatment from home

Milwaukee In an effort to continually enhance convenient access to medical services, Aurora Health Care is now offering Video Visit among its various patient care options.

Patients can visit Aurora.org/videovisit via mobile device or computer where they can have a live-video appointment with an Aurora board-certified professional who has received special training in telehealth, and has access to the patient’s medical records.

During a video visit, patients will enter their information, including symptoms, and then select who they would like to speak with from the list of currently available providers. From there, patients experience a live video conversation with a medical provider, receive a diagnosis and treatment plan, receive a prescription (if necessary), and are provided recommendations for follow-up care.

Conditions treated through a video visit include bronchitis, sinus and respiratory infections, red eye, colds, fever, sprains and more. Visit Aurora.org/videovisit for the entire list of conditions.

“Offering Video Visit is another way Aurora Health Care is putting patients first, and adding even more convenience to our high-quality care,” said Dr. Andy Anderson, chief medical officer for Aurora Health Care. “We’re offering top-quality care from the convenience of your home.”

Video Visit is the latest offering from Aurora Health Care’s telehealth system, which includes e-visits, in which a patient emails a physician details about their condition and receives a response or diagnosis within an hour, and Urgent Care reservations, which enable patients to find the most readily-available urgent care option, reserve their spot in line and skip the waiting room. The cost of a Video Visit is $49, and insurance is accepted.
